Student Voices
From the day I joined this community, I have been exposed to many different ideas that many people do not learn about until much later... I have learned about the power of singing. I have learned about the power of silence. And I have learned what it means to be a part of a community.
All along I thought Hogwarts was where all the magic was, that the spells and enchantments were what I was missing out on. Now I realize the magic is here. A different type of magic, one that is changing students’ lives every day. It’s not the school, it’s the people it produces.
"Remember the seed in the little paper cup, first the roots grow down and then the plant grows up.” For years I have sung the song “ Kindergarten Wall" at PFS and I have always wandered about the relevance of that last line. But now I know what it means. That song isn’t about plants. That song is about each of us.
In a lot of ways my PFS experience has been a voyage, where I have faced storms and sheltered in safe harbors, explored new things and made progress. I spent most of my life within these walls, with these people, learning all sorts of different lessons, from kindness to geometry.
One of the many gifts I have received here at PFS is discovering who I am. I believe that everything in life happens for a reason. My journey will always be a piece of who I am. . . My teachers have always led me to be be the best version of myself I could be.
Knowing who you are is one of the gifts you will receive here at PFS.
